We present the results of the study “Quality of Life and Satisfaction with Public Services in Madrid.”

We share some key insights from this analysis conducted by Ikerfel for Madrid City Council, recently presented by Deputy Mayor and Municipal Spokesperson Inmaculada Sanz Otero. It reflects how Madrid residents perceive the evolution of their city and its public services.

• Madrid improves as a city: Its performance rating rises from 6.3 in 2022 to 6.8 in 2024.
• High satisfaction with living in Madrid: The quality of life in the capital remains remarkably high (7.7).
• Highly rated aspects: Cultural and leisure activities (8.2), Madrid’s international image (7.7), and mobility (7.5).
• Notable public services: Firefighters and SAMUR (Civil Protection) lead the ratings with scores of 8.2 and 7.8, respectively.

We have also identified significant challenges, such as access to housing, which has become the main challenge for citizens.

The results of this study are based on two surveys conducted with a sample of more than 10,000 Madrid residents, which enables subsequent data analysis both at an aggregate level for the entire city and for each of its 21 districts.
